Bianka is an industrial PhD student in the CercoCAST project, enrolled at Aarhus University and employed by the Nordic Beet Research Foundation. She began her project on 1 July 2026 and will be affiliated with NBR for the next three years. Her research focuses on the plant pathogen Cercospora beticola. As part of the project, Bianka investigates the susceptibility of different varieties to Cercospora and conducts trials to gain greater insight into the pathogen’s biology under Nordic agroclimatic conditions. In addition, she is developing a weather-based forecasting model to support more sustainable disease management in Denmark and Sweden.
