The purpose of the Sugar Beet Levy Fund is to promote the development of sugar beet cultivation

The Sugar Beet Levy Fund is a foundation which, like a number of other levy funds within the agriculture and horticulture sector, has been established and provides grants for a range of activities in accordance with the provisions of the law commonly referred to as the Agricultural Support Act.

In 2026, NBR Nordic Beet Research will receive grants for the projects“Optimal Fertilization of Sugar Beets,”“Establishment of Nematode Testing at NBR, “Development of Weed Control in Sugar Beet Cultivation (IPM),” “IPM Pest Control in Sugar Beet Cultivation, ” “IPM Control of Leaf Fungi in Sugar Beet Cultivation, ” “Development of a Course Series for Sugar Beet Growers in Denmark,” and “Digital Tool for Managing Historical Data on Trial Plots in Sugar Beet Trials.”

Results from the 2026 projects are being processed on an ongoing basis, and reports will be prepared during the first half of 2027. These reports can be found here on this page or by searching under “Publications.” In addition, every year in February NBR publishes the “NBR Technical Report”, which contains results from the various projects.

All results are made available free of charge to all parties and will be available on NBR’s website for at least 5 years. The results for the past 5 years can be viewed here: 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021.
