The purpose of the Sugar Beet Levy Fund is to strengthen the development of sugar beet cultivation
The Sugar Beet Levy Fund is a foundation which, like a number of other levy funds within the agriculture and horticulture sector, has been established and provides grants for a range of activities in accordance with the provisions of the law commonly referred to as the Agricultural Support Act.
In 2025, NBR Nordic Beet Research receives grants for the projects “Biomass and profitability in sugar beet cultivation”, “Optimal fertilisation of sugar beets with nitrogen and phosphorus”, “Development of weed control in sugar beet cultivation (IPM)”, “IPM control of pests in sugar beet cultivation” and “IPM control of foliar fungi in sugar beet cultivation”.
In 2024, NBR Nordic Beet Research received grants for the projects: “Biomass production and profitability in sugar beet cultivation”, “Development of weed control in sugar beet cultivation”, “Occurrence of soil-borne fungi and free-living nematodes in Danish beet fields”, “IPM control of pests in sugar beet cultivation” and “IPM control of foliar fungi in sugar beet cultivation”,

Results from the projects are processed on an ongoing basis, and during the first half of 2025 reports will be prepared which can be found here on the site or by searching under Publications. In addition, every year in February NBR publishes the “NBR Technical Report”, which contains results from the various projects.
All results are made available free of charge to all parties and will be available on NBR’s website for at least 5 years. Results from the past 5 years can be viewed here: 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020 and 2019.
