Sukkerroernes konkurrenceevne overfor ukrudt

Konklusion:

Det er blevet undersøgt, hvordan forskellige sukkerroesorter kan konkurrere mod ukrudt. Sorterne varierer i topvækst, hvilket påvirker deres evne til at dække jorden og dermed hæmme ukrudtet. Tre forsøg på danske lokaliteter viste tydelige forskelle i bladdække mellem sorterne, især tidligt i sæsonen. Sorter med udbredt vækst udviklede størst bladdække, men der sås ingen klar sammenhæng mellem stort bladdække og lavt ukrudtstryk. Der sås tydelig forskel mellem ukrudtsdækningen mellem de forskellige led – men altså ingen direkte sammenhæng med roernes bladdække i årets forsøg.
Konklusion: Sorternes vækstformer påvirker markdækningen, men konkurrencen mod ukrudt kan ikke forklares alene ud fra bladdække.

 

Conclusion:

An investigation was carried out into how different sugar beet varieties compete against weeds. The varieties differ in their canopy development, which affects their ability to cover the soil and thus suppress weeds. Three trials at Danish locations revealed clear differences in leaf cover between the varieties, especially early in the season. Varieties with extensive growth achieved the greatest leaf cover, but no clear link was seen between high leaf cover and low weed pressure. There were clear differences in weed coverage between the different treatments – but no direct relationship with the beet’s leaf cover in this year’s trials.
Conclusion: The varieties’ growth influence ground cover, but competition against weeds cannot be explained by leaf cover alone.
