Konklusion:
Roesæsonen 2025 var kendetegnet ved, at langt de fleste marker blev sået meget tidligt, nemlig allerede sidst i marts. Den tidlige såning blev fulgt af en kort periode med kulde, men det førte generelt til en jævn og god fremspiring. De tidlige angreb af insekter havde heller ingen mærkbar effekt på planternes etablering.
I 2025 har der været få stokløbere – det skyldes et relativt lavt antal timer med kuldepåvirkning (vernalisation). Især den tidlige såning har tydeligt vist forskelle mellem sorterne. Ukrudtsbekæmpelsen har generelt været meget effektiv dette år, og rækkerne blev lukket tidligere end normalt.
Vækstsæsonen indtil august har budt på meget favorable forhold med regelmæssig regn, hvilket har givet et stort potentiale for udbytte – selv i de forsøg, der blev høstet tidligt, mens de sene høstninger forventes at nå rekordhøje niveauer.
Angreb af svampene rust og cercospora viste sig tidligt i 2025. Især cercospora har haft stor betydning i de ubehandlede forsøg, mens svampeangrebene i de øvrige forsøg var begrænsede, da de blev behandlet med svampemidler to-tre gange.
I årets nematodeforsøg blev tre forsøg taget med i vurderingen, hvor der var en tydelig negativ effekt af roecystenematoder på de følsomme kontrolsorter, med cirka 11 % lavere udbytte sammenlignet med gennemsnittet for de testede nematoderesistente sorter.
Aphanomyces-serien havde for lille effekt på begge lokaliteter i 2025 og er derfor ikke medtaget i vurderingen.
Gennemsnitsudbyttet i sortsforsøgene for de dyrkede sorter ligger på 17,9 ton sukker pr. hektar, med variation fra 16,2 til 18,9 ton sukker pr. hektar. De danske forsøg har generelt haft højere udbytte end de svenske i 2025. Samlet set er udbyttet hele 11 % højere end i 2024 og også højere end gennemsnittet for de foregående år (2022 = 15,1 t/ha, 2023 = 16,4 t/ha og 2024 = 16,1 t/ha).
De sorter, der har klaret sig bedst i år, er Selma KWS, Caprianna KWS, Fabienna KWS og Miracula KWS. Ser man på resultaterne over tre år i begge lande (24 forsøg), finder man Selma KWS, Fabienna KWS, Caprianna KWS, Miracula KWS og Drusilla KWS blandt de sorter med de højeste sukkerudbytter.
Conclusion:
The 2025 beet season was characterised by the fact that the vast majority of fields were sown very early, as early as the end of March. This early sowing was followed by a brief cold spell, but overall it resulted in even and good germination. Early insect attacks also had no noticeable effect on crop establishment.
In 2025, there were few bolters, which is due to a relatively low number of hours with cold exposure (vernalisation). Especially the early sowing clearly showed differences between the varieties. Weed control has generally been very effective this year, and the rows closed earlier than usual.
The growing season up until August offered very favourable conditions with regular rainfall, which has provided great yield potential – even in the trials that were harvested early, while the later harvests are expected to reach record levels.
Attacks by the fungi rust and cercospora appeared early in 2025. Cercospora, in particular, had a significant impact in the untreated trials, whereas fungal attacks in the other trials were limited as they were treated with fungicides two or three times.
In this year’s nematode trials, three were included in the assessment, where there was a clear negative effect of beet cyst nematodes on the susceptible control varieties, with yields around 11% lower compared to the average for the tested nematode-resistant varieties.
The Aphanomyces series had too little effect at both sites in 2025 and has therefore not been included in the assessment.
The average yield in the variety trials for the cultivated varieties is 17.9 tonnes of sugar per hectare, with a range from 16.2 to 18.9 tonnes of sugar per hectare. The Danish trials have generally had higher yields than the Swedish ones in 2025. Overall, the yield is a full 11% higher than in 2024 and also higher than the average for previous years (2022 = 15.1 t/ha, 2023 = 16.4 t/ha and 2024 = 16.1 t/ha).
The varieties that performed best this year are Selma KWS, Caprianna KWS, Fabienna KWS and Miracula KWS. Looking at the results over three years in both countries (24 trials), Selma KWS, Fabienna KWS, Caprianna KWS, Miracula KWS and Drusilla KWS are among the varieties with the highest sugar yields.
