Conclusion
The monitoring and warning system for leaf diseases in sugar beet 2023 shows that again this year rust has been the dominant leaf disease. The first symptoms of rust were observed in the first week of August, and the leaf fungus developed relatively slowly in the first half of August and then increased in development until harvest time. Local and relatively late attacks of powdery mildew have been seen. Occurrence of Cercospora is seen in most fields, on average at a relatively low level, but in some fields more widespread in September and October.
