Conclusion

In three field trials 2022, rust and late powdery mildew have been the dominant leaf diseases, and different
strategies with the products Amistar Gold, Comet Pro, Propulse SE 250, Forapro and the additive Thiopron
are studied. On average, of the last eight years of trials, leaf disease control has resulted in 13 per cent
additional sugar yield and DKK 3,000 per ha in net income. Tank mixes with Amistar Gold and Propulse SE
250 or Comet Pro and Propulse SE 250 show high control of leaf diseases and high net incomes. Of the three
products, Comet Pro has resulted in the highest net returns followed by Propulse SE 250 and Amistar Gold.
Propulse SE 250 is not approved in sugar beet but had a derogation of use in 2022. Addition of Thiopron to
Amistar Gold improves effect against powdery mildew. The use of Forapro, which is not approved in sugar
beet, has improved the effect against leaf diseases and increased the net income compared to Amistar Gold.
