Conclusion

In three trials in 2023 with attacks of rust and a late-onset powdery mildew, three biostimulants (Charge, Seamac, Talisman) have been investigated for their potential contribution at foliar disease control in tank mix with the fungicides Comet Pro and Propulse SE 250. Effect against rust was assessed in all three trials, and mildew was assessed in one trial. Reference treatment 2 with fungicides Comet Pro og Propulse SE 250 showed very good efficacy against rust and mildew, and no increased effect of the tested biostimulants could be seen. Looking at yield, there was no additional yield benefit from the treatments with the biostimulants in 2023. The lack of yield response from this year’s biostimulant experiment may be explained by the fact that there were very good growing conditions from mid-July right up to the sugar beet harvest.
