Dyrkning af sukkerroer i stribebaseret sædskifte
Conclusions (based on year 1, 2 and 3 (last year))
• The yield level of main crops (barley, wheat, faba beans, sugar beets) were similar in three- and six-
meter-wide crop strips (no significant effects after three years cultivation).
• Overall, there has been few symptoms from pest and diseases and generally independent of strip widths of three and six meters.
• Extreme sporadic damage from Tipula-larvae together with pest damage in faba beans and sugar beets indicate that some pests may benefit from a strip-based cropping systems, where certain crops are cultivated yearly. However, a three-year study is too limited to conclude about long-term effects.
• The development of leaf diseases in sugar beets was reduced compared to the general picture in the beet-growing area in Denmark and organic variety-trials. Data are, however, to limited to conclude whether this is due to strip-based cultivation.
• Following some challenges in 2021, robot-based cultivation has generally been without any noteworthy problems. Consequent use of the same robot has, however, led to markedly compacted soil in the permanent tracks used by the robot.
• Further results will follow. (https://icrofs.dk/en/research/danish-research/organic-rdd-6/stripcrop)
