Conclusion
Fungicide seed treatments with Tachigaren and Rampart has been studied in four field trials. The infestations
have been moderate – thus an average of 5 pct. of the plants in untreated are attacked by damping off in the
first registration, and 3 pct. of the plants are attacked in the second registration. The moderate attack of
damping off has led to low plant numbers. In 2022, there have generally been challenges with germination,
which, together with attack of damping off, has resulted in greatly varying plant numbers in the trials. There
has in general been yield increases for the treatments with Tachigaren at 2 to 9 pct. higher relative sugar
yield (this has however only been statistically significant for the high dose – with 9 pct. higher yield). Several
years of trial results with Tachigaren show reduction in damping off and higher final plant numbers. Variable
yield increase has been obtained with a tendency of 2 pct. increase in average over the last 10 years.
